Collaboration

From problems at work or children who won’t go to school to complicated relationships, I am always ready to work with you to come up with solutions that feel right for you! I will listen, make suggestions, and provide resources as needed. There is no rush as we explore and collaborate; the focus is on what you need in session at that time.

Introspection

After listening to your concern in session, I might ask you to take a moment and check in with yourself about what you want to happen or how you feel about it. This often leads you to your answer or brings up new insight we can explore. I might also ask you why you believe something is true and question whether you have any evidence. From there, we can discuss if that is your automatic assumption or a real fact.

Communication Skills

Loving communication is the foundation of healthy relationships with partners and families. Ignoring, shutting down, and yelling increase the tension and create distance in those relationships.

Through role-play, I will show you appropriate ways to listen, express your feelings, and communicate your needs so that you can reconnect with your loved ones.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Negative assumptions about yourself lead to a distorted self-perception. And the more we think about those false, negative assumptions, the bigger they get. In time, irrational beliefs can influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors!
