A powerful, revolutionary treatment for trauma…
Brainspotting is a healing therapy that evolved from EMDR. It’s based on the premise that “where you look affects how you feel.”
Using this technique, we’ll work together to use your field of vision (where your eyes focus) and your body (where and when you feel the strongest reactions) when recalling distressing memories.
According to the Community Assessment Report, Brainspotting was the most effective therapy for school shooting survivors at Sandy Hook Elementary.
This is much different from traditional talk therapy.
Through your retina, Brainspotting accesses the deeper part of your brain (the limbic system) where trauma is stored.
Talk therapy doesn’t “speak” to this part of the brain, so symptoms usually return when used to treat trauma.
But Brainspotting therapy IS effective for trauma. It shifts the tension, distress, and energy associated with the trauma stored in your body, allowing your intense emotions and sensations to peak, subside, and release from your body and mind.
Here’s what we’ll do…
During therapy, you will listen to soft, brain-activating music.
I’ll then guide you to focus your mind while remaining free to notice and talk about your inner experience during the session.
How your eyes track as you think about your trauma experience will give us insight into where you’re hurting most. I’ll guide you to allow your emotions and body sensations to process in your body so that you can release the emotional energy and heal.
Significant, rapid healing from trauma…
Brainspotting makes it possible.
We can even do “Brainspotting Expansion,” allowing you to expand into your deepest desires and dreams. You might focus on succeeding with a particular performance goal (e.g., giving an important speech) or achieving a desired inner state (e.g., joy, peace, acceptance, or confidence).
It’s time you got fast, lasting results from the trauma that’s plagued you for so long.
