“Accept yourself, love yourself, and keep moving forward. If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
You’re here to heal and empower yourself.
And you’re in luck… because that’s my passion. It’s why I became a therapist!
I help adults with anxiety and sadness in their bodies and minds daily. Getting you relief from your emotional pain quickly is my #1 goal. That’s why I offer EMDR and Brainspotting, which heal the source of the pain because they reach the part of your brain where the memories are stored.
These memories might be from a loss, a distressing incident, or something still bothering them from the past. Together, we work on healing those memories that weigh them down and have led them to have the negative beliefs that shaped them. After we process those memories in therapy, they feel lighter and happier because the anxiety and sadness diminish profoundly.
During healing, having strong personal boundaries to maintain healthy relationships is important. Maybe you aren’t even aware of your feelings, rights, and needs and feel a void because you aren’t fulfilled.
I help you develop a deeper awareness of the values that guide you as a person so that you can identify your rights and needs. I empower you to express them in a healthy way, so you can have more of what you want in your relationships and life!
A safe, trusting connection…
I am compassionate and patient and use my whole heart in therapy. Healing can only happen when you feel safe, so I establish a trusting bond immediately.
I encourage your questions. We talk openly and work at your pace, not mine. That means I might encourage you, but I’ll never ask you to talk about something you don’t want to before you are ready.
Understanding your story…
I will listen to your fears, sadness, hopes, dreams, and stresses and how you want to change your life.
Sometimes, people have been verbally or physically abused, which leads to low self-esteem and feelings of fear and sadness. They want to be happier and more confident, but those stories keep them believing, “I’m not safe,“ I’m not good enough,” or “I am powerless.”
Feeling like you had no childhood because you were too busy taking care of your chronically ill or alcoholic parent might have made you feel like you are walking on eggshells or replaying that self-destructive and caretaking pattern in your relationships in your adult life.
In session, I often hear people say, “I am really angry. I take care of everyone in my family, and I am exhausted and sad because no one takes care of me.”
When you understand how these early beliefs and behaviors started, you can heal and transform.
Giving you what you need…
Whether it’s to unpack your feelings, talk about a painful trauma, or collaborate, that’s what we’ll do each session.
A small disagreement led to a terrible argument with your spouse…..
We’ll break it down, what happened first, then what, and how did you each respond? You’ll tell me the whole story. Then we will slow it down, identify your feelings, and discuss how you want to resolve it.
Your child was in an accident, and you had to rush them to the hospital. They’ll be okay, but you keep reliving it now.
I will give you the space and time to discuss it and reassure you that it’s over. I’ll ensure that you have tools like deep breathing and grounding so that you can stay present while you talk about it.
You are having difficulty at work, and the stress is overwhelming. Your coworkers blame you for things you didn’t do, and you don’t have an effective supervisor.
In this situation, we’ll combine your perspectives on why this happened, the appropriate solutions we’ve brainstormed, focus on your rights, and empower you to express your concerns to your supervisor with a straightforward action plan.
At times, there might be tears.
The negative beliefs you have about yourself stem from all sorts of difficult times: a painful childhood, infidelity, or a self-destructive relationship pattern in your life.
Sometimes talking about what happened brings up painful feelings of shame, embarrassment, or being unlovable or permanently damaged. During these times, I will remind you of your courage and that I am with you. If you felt fearful, sad, or not good enough in your relationships with your primary caregivers, I’ll add an attachment-based therapy to your treatment.
I’ll show you how to activate your internal resource figures and positive experiences with bilateral tapping, so it is felt in your body. These resources will provide a strong foundation of support for you to connect with as your talk about painful memories.
Let’s build you up!
You’ll marshal the internal resources and get the tools to reduce daily anxiety, summon your strength, and arrive at a safe, calm place.
I’ll teach you specific visualizations and tools to use throughout your day to reduce anxiety and body sensations. Tapping will reduce distress in your body, and the visualizations and resources we set up will contain it and bring you to a place of safety and calm.
When you’re ready, we’ll move on to powerful brain-body therapies like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or Brainspotting to reprocess trauma and free yourself from painful emotions.
It takes courage and resolve to do the work, but don’t worry…

About Me
I’ve experienced many of the same ups and downs you’ve probably faced.
I’ve been around the block, back, and in between.
I had a complicated childhood, a painful divorce, had family members struggle with substances, suffered the travails of ailing parents, and lost a beloved pet.
These life experiences were too painful and big to handle alone. This led me to seek out the support of therapy.
Because it was so powerful, I healed from trauma and became a better therapist. This is one of the reasons I encourage my clients – I know the healing happens, and it can be life-changing!
Some of my training…
I’ve been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for over a decade.
During my career, I’ve always sought to discover and learn therapies that provide positive, lasting change.
To that end, I became a certified EMDR therapist and have received extensive training in Brainspotting and attachment-based therapies.
In my life outside the office…
I am married with three adult children and four grandchildren. I enjoy spending my free time with them.
We like to travel and go to the beach whenever possible!
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and gradually moved west to Westlake Village. I love our mountains, proximity to the beach, hiking trails, and the peace of our community.
