Carol lies in bed in the middle of the night, unable to sleep. Painful memories of her past flood back without warning. She goes downstairs to make herself another cocktail to calm down. But it’s only a temporary solution, and avoidance only works for so long.
Rick
Rick brightly greets his spouse every morning, putting on a happy face, but inside he feels nothing. He’s unsure when this disconnect began and wonders if it will last forever. He’s spent so much of his life burying his emotions that he doesn’t remember how to access them anymore.
Susan
Susan always strives to be the best at everything she does. She goes above and beyond at work and constantly sacrifices her own needs for the sake of her family. But in the process, she’s lost touch with herself. She wonders if ignoring what she wants is the only way to please others.
